Seminar Description

Recent code changes have impacted the design and detailing of midrise and highrise concrete buildings in seismic regions. This seminar will present case studies of concrete buildings designed using ASCE 7-10, ASCE 7-16 and ASC7-22 with companion ACI 318 Codes. In the case studies, building lateral loads will be compared and impact on the lateral systems illustrated. In addition, solutions to mitigate some of the issues facing engineers designing concrete buildings will be discussed. Finally, the importance of detailing and constructability will be illustrated through construction photos and videos.
The views and opinions expressed in this seminar are those of the speaker(s) and do not necessarily reflect those held by S. K. Ghosh Associates LLC.
