2006
IBC Wind Design Examples
Friday,
August 1, 2008
10:00
to 11:30 am PDT |
This web seminar presents four examples included in the SKGA one-day 2006 IBC Wind Provisions Seminar. The examples demonstrate the application of the 2006 IBC/ASCE 7-05 wind design provisions as follows:
1.Design of main wind force-resisting system of low-rise building using ASCE 7-05 Simplified Procedure (Method 1)
2.Design of main wind force-resisting system of low-rise building using ASCE 7-05 Analytical Procedure (Method 2, low-rise)
3.Design of components and cladding of low-rise building using ASCE 7-05 Simplified Procedure (Method 1)
4.Design of main wind force-resisting system of high-rise building using ASCE 7-05 Analytical Procedure (Method 2,General) |

2006
IBC Seismic Design Examples
Tuesday,
August 26, 2008
10:00
to 11:30 PDT |
This web seminar presents three examples included in the SKGA one-day 2006 IBC Seismic Provisions Seminar. The examples demonstrate the application of the 2006 IBC/ASCE 7-05 seismic design provisions as follows:
Example 1: Determination of seismic design forces for a 3-story concrete frame building using the equivalent lateral force procedure. Starting from ground motion at a specific location, the design base shear is calculated and distributed along the height of the structure. Member design forces are determined using the design load combinations and the redundancy factor of the 2006 IBC/ASCE 7-05.
Example 2: Determination of diaphragm design forces in a multi-story frame-shear wall building.
Example 3: Calculation of out-of-plane wall and anchorage design forces for a tilt-up concrete wall with parapet laterally supported by a structural wood diaphragm. |
