The International Building Code (IBC) no longer has provisions to address existing buildings but rather references the International Existing Building Code (IEBC) for work involving existing buildings. This seminar provides an introduction to the 2018 IEBC. It clarifies how the code is laid out and provides specific guidelines for how to use the book. Specific triggers for mandatory structural, fire safety, and accessibility triggers will be discussed. Requirements for repairs, alterations, additions, moved structures and historic structures will be addressed in addition to highlighting specific changes that were made to the 2018 edition in relation to the previous versions.
Chris has more than 18 years of experience in the design, construction and building safety industries.
