S. K. Ghosh Associates Inc. Partners with Ramboll Whitby & Bird

SKGA and Ramboll Whitby & Bird signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Dubai on February 3, 2009.  Ramboll Whitby & Bird is a  leading firm of engineers specializing in a number of fields including structural engineering and sustainable design.  In the structural engineering field, they are known for their innovative design for iconic high-rise structures.  Dr. Farhad Shad is their lead structural engineer in the Dubai office and  has been working closely with SKGA staff for a year.  More recently, he assisted in the completion of our publication: Seismic Design Using Structural Dynamics.

The MOU highlights joint objectives in the following areas:

  3. Consulting Services

  4. Development of SKGA Publications

  5. SKGA/Ramboll Whitby & Bird Technical Papers

Dr. S. K. Ghosh receives Joe W. Kelly Award of the American Concrete Institute

Dr. S. K. Ghosh has received the Joe W. Kelly Award of the American Concrete Institute, Farmington Hills, MI. This honor was bestowed by the ACI Board of Direction at its Fall 2008 meeting specifically “for your leadership and vision in educating engineers in the use of concrete for construction, and contributions toward the advancement of the design profession.”

Formal announcement of this election was made at the Opening Session and Awards Program of the ACI Spring Convention, Sunday, March 15, 2009, in San Antonio, TX.


Dr. Prabuddha Dasgupta Passes CA P.E. Exam

SKGA is pleased to announce Dr. Prabuddha Dasgupta recently passed the CA P.E. exam taken in Oct 2008 and is now a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.  Dr. Dasgupta joined SKGA in May 2005 after receiving his Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is an invaluable member of the SKGA team and most recently developed the SKGA Quick Anchor Program.  He  has also coauthored a number of SKGA publications and oversees projects in the Palatine office.
